Planning: The conventions of pop videos

In order to gain a better insight and gain some more ideas and inspiration in preparation before filiming, I decided to take a look at a few pop videos and draw out the similarities between them. This will allow us as a group to create a pop video that will be in agreement with it's intended target audience, increasing it's popularity and the entertainment it provides to the consumer:

Summary of conventions:

• Artists are almost always seen wearing stylish designer clothing
• Choreographed dance is frequent
• The upbeat nature of the songs portray the artists to seem as if they are happy and living life to the fullest
• A variety of colours normally appear in pop music videos
• Artists are often seen looking directly at the camera, making the audience feel as if they are being looked at
