Planning: Looking for inspiration - Branding

To gain some inspiration for branding I looked at other artists who's music/ some songs can be considered the same genre as my artist, the genre being pop. To do this I look at various artists of this genre's album covers as from previous research this is where the branding is most prominent. I only looked at female artists as our artist is a female and male pop artists may brand differently. Also I looked at both American and British artists so that what i have discovered relates and is representative. I was able to identify a trend within the genre regarding colour pallet and branding. I found that the common colours used were:

• Blues 
• Reds
• Pinks
• White/Creams
• Gold/Yellows
• Then a neutral colour most often black

By doing this it has made it slightly easier for my group to chose colour for our artist as we now know the common colours for our type of song.
